A man-physicist said something about the theory of new memories. I understand it: some details are also given the target, and he thinks everything else out of his memories (building new and erasing the old ones), so he did not remember everything that was in the past about the comest and about his finger, about his daughter, about the old life. No, this does not affect in general that the ending is one. I think it was done specifically for the subsequent understanding of the plot and the illusion of an “important solution” by the protagonist. In fact, one can even consider this a subtle trolling towards games, where all sorts of “little things” play a huge role in creating the ending.
